Mark has a 20+ year career spanning medical devices, consumer electronics, and basic research. He is a Ph.D. physicist, biomedical engineer, corporate strategist, and upstream marketer. Over the years, Mark developed ad-hoc software tools to aid in strategy and upstream marketing. He wrote code to inform strategic investments by crawling and analyzing websites, patents, journal articles, and trade publications. He applied big data analytics to inform customer targeting by aggregating and analyzing large healthcare and sales databases. While leading R&D teams, he developed tools to help teams collaborate on the hard process of developing and prioritizing requirements.
Most recently, through trial-and-error, Mark figured out ways to effectively apply generative and agentic AI to the problems of upstream marketing.
AI Upstream is the software embodiment of Mark’s ideas and best practices he has accumulated over 20 years.
